Who is eligible for EVCP?

Funding is available for a wide range of applicants, including:

Businesses (retail, offices, commercial properties)
Condominium corporations & property managers
Municipalities & public institutions
Non-profits & industry associations
Indigenous communities
Others, on a case-by-case basis

What types of projects qualify?

Projects must be new installations (Level 2 and 3 chargers only)—retroactive funding is not available. If construction work has already started or EV charging equipment has already been ordered, the project will not qualify for funding.

How much funding can I get?

The Alberta EVCP rebate will cover up to 46% in project funding—which can be up to $100,000 per location. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

What type of EV chargers are eligible?

Projects must include the purchase and installation of Level 2 (3.3 kW to 19.2 kW) or Level 3 (20+ kW) EV chargers.

How to Apply in 3 Steps

STEP 01

Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

The Alberta Municipalities team will review your EOI to ensure you're eligible for the program before you proceed to the next step.

STEP 02

Complete the EVCP Application

Provide detailed project information, including site plans, cost estimates, and proof of ownership or lease agreements. The application must include a comprehensive breakdown of costs and relevant project details.

STEP 03

Sign the Funding Agreement

Once approved, you will receive a funding agreement. The project can officially begin once both parties have signed.

Since funding is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, early applications are highly recommended to secure financial support.

Shai and his team did an amazing job for our condo corp by deploying 97 EV chargers in our underground parking garage. As you might imagine, a deployment of this size required an enourmous amount of planning and communications and required core drilling since our garage is on multiple levels. Our condo EV team met with 4 vendors and Metro EV impressed us from the start, Shai is extremely knowlegable, communicates well and provided in-person and Zoom presentations so our residents could make an informed descision. Metro EV was also able to assist with our applications to ZEVIP, where we qualified for a 50% government credit. Installation is clean and had little impact on owners during deployment.
